Island Tennis Professional Susan Evans is an experienced player who played NCAA Division I college tennis for the Iowa Hawkeye’s in both singles and doubles and graduated with a business degree in marketing. She is a USPTA Certified Elite Tennis Professional and a sponsored team member of the Wilson Gold Advisory Staff.

  Susan is the 2014 USPTA National Clay Court Doubles Champion and Singles Runner-Up as well as the 2014 Naples Clay in May Tournament Singles Champion in her age division. She also participated in the 2014 Naples-Fort Myers Team Challenge playing mixed doubles for Team Naples who were the overall champions.

  Susan has taught, coached and played tennis in many different parts of the country: Florida, California, Arizona, New Jersey, Iowa, Illinois and Maryland, as well as abroad in Europe and in the West Indies. Throughout her tennis teaching career, Susan has worked with some of the leading tennis coaches in the industry: Wayne Bryan of Southern California and World Team Tennis Coach and Father of ATP World #1 Doubles Team Mike and Bob Bryan, and legendary coaches in Dick Gould, John Whitlinger and Frank Brennan at Stanford University. Susan has taught and coached sectional and nationally ranked juniors and adults, as well as played competitively on the tournament circuits in Florida, California and Europe.

  Through her Island Tennis business, Susan offers a variety of professional tennis teaching services for all ages and levels to both visitors and locals alike on tropical Marco Island in sunny Southwest Florida. Her Island Tennis business has received the 2015 Best of Marco Island Award for Tennis, and for the second year in a row, has been ranked the #1 Activity on Marco Island on Tripadvisor.

  Presently Susan is the Head Tennis Professional for the Marco Island Marriott Resort and its Hammock Bay Golf and Country Club in Naples, Florida. She is also the tennis professional for Cape Marco in addition to teaching team doubles clinics for the Island Country Club on Marco.

  Susan is an experienced teaching pro who genuinely enjoys sharing her passion for the game with her students by helping them to improve their own games as well as enjoying the overall tennis experience. It’s always tennis fun in the sun with Island Tennis!
